Updated Sun Belt tourney scenarios, with Georgia State’s path

Here are updated Sun Belt tournament standings following Saturday’s games.

Arkansas-Little Rock clinched the regular season and top seed with its win over Texas State on Saturday, while Louisiana-Monroe clinched the second seed. Both will receive double byes to the semifinals of the event in New Orleans.

Here is a site that provides probabilities for Sun Belt seedings. According to its calculations, the Panthers have a 1 percent chance of not making it to New Orleans.

Troy was eliminated with its loss to the Warhawks.

March 3 at second-place Louisiana-Lafayette (11-7), which it lost to 87-54.

March 5 at third-place Louisiana-Monroe (13-5), which it defeated 65-51.

Record against remaining teams: 1-1.

Conference record of remaining teams: 24-12.

The Panthers have difference scenarios to clinch a spot. The easiest way would be for Texas State to lose at least one of its remaining games. If the Bobcats were to win all three and the Panthers to lose both, they could be knocked out of the top eight spots.
