Weekly recruiting roundup for Georgia State and Kennesaw State

This is a new display in the team's complex.

This is a new display in the team’s complex.

Today and next Wednesday, I’ll run a list of the high school players who have committed and/or enrolled at Georgia State or Kennesaw State.

I’m not going to provide any analysis of each player because I haven’t seen any of them play. Any video posted on online will be only highlights and won’t provide an accurate glimpse of their strengths and weaknesses because would you want your worst plays online if you were trying to earn a scholarship?

I will provide my thoughts on what each team needs based upon what I saw last year, the players returning, the players left, etc.

We will start with Georgia State, which went 6-7 last year and appeared in its first bowl game.

The Panthers need to add depth and talent on the offensive line, defensive line and at wide receiver.

Two of the three starters on the defensive line are seniors. The third is a redshirt junior. The wide receivers need depth because there aren’t many of them. The offensive line needs depth and talent because it has yet to play as consistently well as the coaches expect.

If the commits hold (see below), the Panthers seem to be on their way to meeting needs at each of these positions.

Kennesaw State, which went 6-5 in its inaugural year, needs help everywhere because it is a young program that played mostly redshirt freshmen and freshmen last season. The group did suffer injuries along the offensive line and B-back, and will need to find depth at wide receiver.
