Video: Ron Hunter discusses Georgia State’s opening win

Georgia State began defense of its Sun Belt men’s basketball titles with a 73-54 win over Middle Georgia State on Friday at the GSU Sports Arena.

It wasn’t pretty.

The Panthers raced out to an 18-point lead against the Knight’s man-to-man defense, before they switched to a zone and began to crawl back into the game, cutting Georgia State’s lead to 10 with less than three minutes remaining in the first half.

Georgia State got more aggressive on offense in the second half and ran away for the win.

Before the game, Georgia State unveiled its banners for last year’s Sun Belt championship, as well as its appearance in the NCAA tournament.
