Georgia State running back Taz Bateman participated in non-contact drills during Monday’s practice.

Bateman has been out since sustaining a broken forearm in the second game of the season. He is scheduled to undergo an X-ray Monday afternoon to gauge the healing process.

If cleared, Bateman could see a lot of playing time in Saturday’s game at Arkansas State.

Though he hasn’t played in a full two games, Bateman is the team’s third-leading rusher with 99 yards because of injuries.

Starter Kyler Neal is out for the season after sustaining meniscus damage in his knee during the win over Ball State.

Demarcus Kirk, who has 37 carries for 147 yards this season, will likely start against the Red Wolves.

Linebackers Kaleb Ringer and Chase Middleton are working through the concussion protocols. Ringer, a starter, participated in Monday’s practice but wore a red no-contact jersey.
