Georgia State released its men’s basketball schedule for the 2015-16 season on Tuesday.

Here is my writeup about the schedule posted in June.

The Panthers are the defending Sun Belt’s regular season and tournament champs. They famously defeated Baylor in the second round of the NCAA tournament behind R.J. Hunter’s 30-foot 3-pointer with less than three seconds remaining.

Three players from that team are now professionals: Hunter was drafted by the Celtics, guard Ryan Harrow signed with a team in Greece and center Curtis Washington signed with a team in Argentina.

To repeat, coach Ron Hunter must figure out how to replace the almost 50 points lost with the losses of that trio.

He said last week that he is going to have a lot of fun with this year’s team, which will see Indiana transfer Jeremy Hollowell at forward/center and Samford transfer Isaiah Williams at guard ready to play after sitting out last year.

Additionally, swingman Jeff Thomas will get to play. He is supposed to be almost as good a shooter as R.J. Hunter (and definitely better than Ron!). Freshmen Malik Benlevi and Austin Donaldson will also join.

Because it’s never too early to make BOLD predictions (always kills me when folks say that because there’s seldom accountability on the internet), here’s who I think will be the starting five:

C/F Hollowell

PF Markus Crider

SF Thomas

SG Kevin Ware

PG Isaiah Dennis

First off the bench:

F TJ Shipes
