Continuing to mix things up, I thought I’d do a look-ahead to Georgia State’s August camp in a different format, A-to-Z:

I’ll continue to post one letter a day on the blog for the next 26 days:

Today is …

O is for Oregon

Georgia State will face Oregon in the third game of the season.

Why are they playing?

Money, that’s it.

The Panthers will receive $900,000 to play the game.

By the time travel costs to Eugene are paid for, the program will likely clear between $600,000-$700,000 for the game.

Georgia State has yet to beat a team from one of the “power” conferences.

Last year’s game at Washington also netted the team a solid payday, but it could also be argued ruined the remainder of the season because three key players went down with season-ending injuries.
